Principal's Message

I am privileged and excited to be the new principal of one of the prestigious schools in Shatin, SKH Lam Kau Mow Secondary School. Spiritual and Moral Education at school which forms the basis of my education philosophy is vital to developing students’ Christian values and positive personality traits embracing love, faith, hope, effort, commitment, perseverance, integrity, caring, ideals, justice, self-discipline, etc. This is in line with the school vision for providing quality education based on the ethos of Christian whole person education propounded by the Anglican Church. Education without morals is like a ship without a compass, merely wandering nowhere - Martin Luther King, Jr.

The word GOAL came up in my mind when I was writing the Principal’s message. G stands for God first. I believe that all children have their talents and God has a plan for every life that He sees as treasures. The school should endeavor to provide a holistic education for students to explore and develop their potentials both academically and non-academically, so that they have dreams and passion for something they love. O in the word GOAL refers to obstacles that they will come across inevitably and should learn how to overcome in the process of seeking God’s plan. Courage and perseverance they would develop through the spiritual and moral education at school are the prerequisites for them to get over the obstacles successfully. ‘A’ represents awareness of their strengths and weaknesses. Self-awareness is the first step to fulfilling God’s plan for them and setting goals. Becoming more self-aware helps children proactively manage their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. L means life-long efforts. To chase their dreams motivated by their passion, they need to learn and acquire lots of knowledge and skills. It takes a lot of doing and needs them to put forth their best life-long efforts.

It is my obligation to do my very best to lead the teachers and work with them as a team in order to ensure that each LKM student is nurtured, motivated and challenged so that they can acquire knowledge and practise with determination, and achieve the GOAL ultimately. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22: 6)

When the 40th Anniversary of the school is approaching, it is about time we counted our blessings from God especially the blessings on the teaching staff, students, alumni and parents. We are glad that our alumni and parents play many important roles in all walks of life and have been making lots of contribution to the school. Many thanks to their continuous support and care. They demonstrate that God shines on them and may His light continue to go before them.

May God look upon every one of us with favor today and give us peace and all we need to succeed.
