It is a dicotyledonous, angiosperm and deciduous tree which
can grow up to 6m tall.
Its leaves are simple and alternate, bilobed and about 5-12cm
long. Its leaves are margins entire, and leaf apex notched.
It blooms in spring; flowers are bisexual and pale pink in
color. Each flower has 5 petals, which have an insect guide on them. Usually,
there are 5 stamens but sometimes they are six. Flowers are fragrant.
Its fruits are pods, which turn black when ripe. The pods
are about 30cm long and their seeds are dispersed by mechanical explosion.
