Fukien tea is a tropical shrub native to southern China and Southeast Asia. It is evergreen with leaves that are oval and with a ragged distal edge. The leaves are 1-inch or smaller, shiny, dark green, and alternate up the stem. Small, white flowers appear in spring, following by tiny green berries that turn orange-red when ripe. They are more droughts and heat resistant.
